La Toya Hankins is the author of SBF Seeking, and K-Rho: The Sweet Taste of Sisterhood. The North Carolina native is an East Carolina University graduate who earned her Bachelor of Arts degree in journalism with a minor in political science. She is a proud member of Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Inc. and is the National Vice President for Gamma Xi Phi, a predominately African American organization of men and women in the arts. The purpose of Gamma Xi Phi is to honor the achievements of artist through fellowship, philanthropy, social justice and service.
Hankins currently works for the State of the North Carolina and when she is not being of service to those who serve the state’s citizens, she and her wife enjoy traveling, watching televised drag competitions and sending each other funny social media posts.
